Fervent Living - A Call to Purpose
"The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." ~ 1 Peter 4:7-10
The reality that the culmination of all things is drawing near should inspire us to live with sound judgment and clear minds. This intentional perspective is vital for our prayers, ensuring they are earnest as we seek God's heart. Above all, as Jesus followers, we are called to maintain a fervent and deep love for one another, a love that actively seeks the good of others. Such earnest love possesses the remarkable ability to overlook and cover a multitude of sins, promoting forgiveness and unity within God's family. This passionate love also compels us to practice hospitality with eagerness, welcoming others without grumbling or reluctance. God has graciously given each believer unique spiritual gifts, and we are entrusted with the use of these diverse expressions of His grace. We are to serve one another with these gifts, acting as good stewards of God's power, building up the body of Christ. Therefore, let us live with fervent dedication in our prayers, our love for others, our hospitality, and in the service of our spiritual gifts, all for God's glory.
