Growing in Christ

"Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." ~ 2 Peter 1:5-8

Being a Christian means much more than simply believing; it is a call to a continuous and active process of spiritual growth. This growth means diligently building into our lives moral excellence and a deeper understanding of God's truth. As we mature, we learn to exercise self-control over our desires, which in turn strengthens our resolve to remain steadfast through every challenge. This developing character naturally cultivates a genuine Christ-like character that expresses itself in heartfelt affection for fellow believers and a boundless love for all humanity. As these virtues become more evident in our lives, they confirm the authenticity of our faith and empower us to live out our knowledge of Jesus Christ in a way that truly makes a difference.
